Where necessary Rake Lawyers also enlists the assistance of barristers, subject matter experts, psychiatrists, psychologists and health care professionals to assemble the best team required to meet your needs.
The firm is led by Hayley Rake, principal, supported by a wider network of barristers, subject matter experts, psychologists, doctors, specialists and support staff:
Hayley Rake is a seasoned criminal and civil lawyer with over a decade of experience in all jurisdictions. She is dedicated, intelligent, strategic, well connected and applies all resources to the cases at hand.
Ms Rake entered the legal profession under the tutelage of one of Australia’s leading criminal defence barristers and media commentators. During this time she was integral to some of Sydney’s most high profile criminal cases including trial matters concerning terrorism, murder, and drug importations. Since that time, Hayley has worked for two leading law firms, acquiring experience in complex commercial, civil and criminal litigation – rounding out her areas of expertise.
As a result of her involvement in high-profile trial matters, Hayley has access to some of Australia’s leading subject-matter experts and barristers whom she calls upon when required to meet her client’s case needs.
Ms Rake is well regarded by the legal community, and both colleagues and clients would describe her as astute, meticulous, professional, empathetic and responsive – characteristics vital to anyone embroiled in legal proceedings. She is also strongly committed to social justice and is regularly retained by NSW Legal Aid to support a wide range of clients regardless of their circumstances.
Hayley holds a BA Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney and was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in October 2008. When she’s not managing client needs she prides herself on staying up to date with case law and matters of public interest.

We truly believe that the better you understand the situation, the more united we will be in building a strong case or claim, which ultimately improves the likelihood of a positive outcome. In terms of the process, you can expect to:
Conduct an initial consultation with us to review your situation;
Where possible, we will then look at opportunities to mediate and resolve your case outside of court, including all elements of enquiry and investigation;
If mediation or resolution is not possible, we will represent you before all levels of the legal system.
